It’s reigning meme coins & NFT’s as opportunists scramble to capitalise on The Queen’s death

Shortly following the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth at Balmoral on 8 September 2022, exchanges such as OpenSea were inundated with thousands of newly minted artworks in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) relating to the late monarch.

Everything from Andy Warhole style pop art to more modern digital portraits of her Majesty  have been put under the hammer. Whilst the popular QueenE project by Fabio Sevá, announced that it would no longer be minting NFT’s. Which in turn saw The 73 QueenE NFT sell at auction for 2.730 ETH or roughly $4,623. Making it the highest grossing NFT in this project. The creators have since backtracked and announced one more NFT will be auctioned.

Both the Ethereum and BNB Chains launched over 40 new tokens sporting names such as Save the Queen, QueenDoge, London Bridge is Down, and RIP Queen Elizabeth. The biggest gainer with a whopping 136% pump in the last 24Hours* was the  Queen Elizabeth Inu token which is available on PancakeSwap.

Although with low liquidity and no real world backing these coins are likely to be nothing more than a pump and dump.
